Even after the unprecedented heatwaves of last summer, many voices in the British press remain engaged in denial of climate science. Join Better Media for a lunchtime discussion of how this denialism is continuing to operate, how the ownership and leadership structures of the media industry orchestrate it, and how community and alternative media can counteract it.
With special guests:
- Eliz Mizon - Bristol Cable journalist who went behind the scenes of British media’s climate denial for Byline Times last year.
- Donnachadh McCarthy - Climate columnist at The Independent and director of the Climate Media Coalition.
- Rob Watson - Host of Decentred Media, an organisation working to empower local and community media in creating positive social change.
