Ofcom have published their Workplan proposals for 2026
They are holding consultation events in Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Belfast (not sure why no North of England event).
Perhaps the most relevant part of the consultation is the ‘Media we trust and value’ work, though other sections will intersect.
This includes:
- Completing the implementation of the Media Act and moving to regulating under these new duties.
- Work around news and the discoverability of PSB content on online platforms.
- Review of broadcast regulation.
- Continuing work to secure standards and protect audiences from harm.
The full implementation of the Media Act 2024 is a key feature, along with availability and prominence for PSM.
Other areas include: discoverability of news, review of Broadcast Regulation, and of course, BBC Charter Review.

I’ll be looking at the proposals for Better Media, and would encourage any concerns for all relevant areas.
